Old Age

A a time for memories
B before you realize it--it arrives
C can this be true
D did I live a lifetime already
E each year has been like a moment
F fear of my demise threatens
G gone are my yesterdays
H how did I arrive here so quickly
I I am a senior
J just yesterday I was a child
K knowing I'm not alone
L look around--more seniors
M many feel and look like me
N now I am a great grandmother
O open your arms to each new day
P put on your coat and take a walk
Q quietly sit and think
R reach out and touch someone
S search your heart
T talk with a friend
U understand others
V view life from a new perspective
W wasn't it an awesome journey
X xerox your life
Y you have arrived
Z zest each day

I haven't written any new poetry lately, dry spell, I guess. I did paint the portrait of Mom and Dad. Some think Dad's face is not long enough, guess I'll work on it some more. Now I am painting Kinna and Rich's year old lab retriver, have a sketch done but he looks like a puppy, needs more work. Betty
